What do icons, idols and stars Gisele Bundchen, Tom Brady, Mathew McConahay, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chelsea Handler all have in common? Besides the fact they were all guests at the Red Palm Villas private beach front resort, they are fans of the #1 Beach in Central and South America, namely Santa Teresa.

In addition to the many stars visiting Mal Pais and Santa Teresa, affluent buyers such as Gisele Bundchen, worlds #1 TOP paid fashion model, and Mel Gibson are also investing their money there.

Gibson, who has reportedly spent almost 100 million acquiring beach front properties in exotic tropical paradise locations, now includes his palatial personal residence in Santa Teresa/Mal Pais as one more part of his investment portfolio.

Why the fuss over this small beach side community? Well, it’s a known fact Santa Teresa is the #1 Beach in Central and South America but also it’s been named #7 and #10 in the WORLD by Forbes and Conde Nast Traveler.

So again, WHY the fuss? Most likely three reason, PRICES, beauty, integrity of the country. Besides all the Awards received in the past three years, Costa Rica has a reputation for being called the “Switzerland of the South” due to it’s favorable tax and banking laws and furthermore, Costa Rica enjoys one of the highest rates of literacy in Central and South America.

So with a secure economy, stable and American friendly government, many American investors have decided to start spending money there. Triple Prime beach front real estate, imagine owning the home of your dreams on one of the most amazing beaches in the world for under a million dollars.

That’s what attracted the owner of Red Palm Villas Resort initially, owning a piece of land, almost a football field in length of beachfront, a private heli landing pad, 3 amazing villas and 2 luxury apartment suites and still room for the main home, all less than 3 million dollars. “In Newport Beach this would have bought you a small lot where you can watch and listen to every word your neighbor says. Here I have between 5 and 7 dogs and no one even notices and a private beach the size of a football field.”

So, if you are looking for a place to vacation or even possibly retire, don’t wait too long because like all great secret spots, eventually the word gets out and after that it’s a mad race to buy up the last piece of land. Santa Teresa Costa Rica is not the once well kept secret surf spot of the late 1990′s; it’s definitely on the map and prices are beginning to reflect that.

Already the north end of Santa Teresa is home to hidden opulent private beach side residences, small boutique resorts and hotels. Fortune 500 names, ex-Vogue models, movie stars, countesses from Sweden – you name it, the who’s who are quickly buying up one of the last and best kept secrets left on the beach in the world.

If you’ve been wanting to come check out this quaint little community, now’s a good time. The crowds are gone and airfares are at a all time low. Lots of resorts are offering discounts from 35-50% off their normal high season rates; there’s never been a better time to see Santa Teresa and save money.
