How to get hereBy car:From San José you have a 2 hour ride to Puntarenas port. There, catch the ferry to Paquera (It has 8 daily frecuencies). From Paquera, take the only road, drive to Cóbano and then follow the road to Mal País/Santa Teresa entrance, about 14 km from Cóbano. Once at the entrance, turn right to Santa Teresa beach and follow the road about 5 km. It´s a good option if you want to enjoy the ride through the Nicoya Peninsula and want to explore the area once here. The ferry has 8 daily frecuencies every 2 hours, its about 1 ½ hour trip. From Paquera port is about 2 more hours driving to get here. The earliest one leaves at 4:30 in the morning, and the last one at 8:30 at night. By bus:Catch the bus from San José bus station to Puntarenas. It´s about 2 ½ hours. Once you're at Puntarenas, take a taxi to the ferry port (1 mile), then board the ferry to Paquera. At Paquera port there are buses to Cóbano, and from Cóbano take the bus (10.30 am and 2.30 PM) to Mal País & Santa Teresa beach. It´s the cheapest option, although the longest one.
